Dear Joey,

Happy New Year of the  Pig. Use my email: ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐  +-Or Whats’s App ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐.

I finally had the chance to print and read the letters. They are all addressed to a Mr. Tam who works at or owns the Kwok WIng Medicine Co. on 60 Bute St. in Mong Kok.

The first letter : The customer from the Bronx in NY requests  a list of basic Chinese herbs for soup , such as lotus seeds, burdock. I know most of the herbs but not all. She also wants an ointment for pains and aches. I don’t know the names of some of the herbs.

The second letter from Morton Lee requests a price list from Mr. Tam . He also wants to buy Korean but not Japanese Ginseng. He says he was reintroduced by a friend. After he receives the herbs., he will send a check. He wants 20 pieces of ginseng. He says he is a friend of a friend and he promised to pay.

The third letter from a Mr. Fong says he did not receive the parcels that Mr. Tam sent. He says perhaps they might have been sent back.

The fourth letter also says he did not receive the goods and perhaps they were turned back. In which case could he please resend? Plus he wanted to add two more herbs. One is Dong Gwai, half a catty.

( I can’t figure out the words)/ He gave the original price as $28.(?)

The fifth  letter from, a Miss Miu said she had received Mr. Tam’s letter. plus  a parcel of goods with the invoice number 239. A Mrs. Lee asked her how she was able to get these and could she also get them as well?

Joey, I did not quite get the rest of the letter. I will ask my friend and get back to

you.  It had something to do how this Mrs. Lee is always “teaching” her about the herbs in front of her other common friends.

The last letter from a Mr. King details how he was not able to shake off a cold that he caught in March. He details all his  symptoms, again, I need to double check with me friend who is better in Chinese. He says he had a blood test and an xray. . He also requests a bottle of Chinese pills.

So this is the gist of the letters.

What happened in Chung King Mansion? You escaped unscathed. Did you know ☐☐☐☐ grew up in the building next to it? A much better building.

Love,

Ame
